EBBW Vale kept up their bid for third place in the Premiership with a 29-12 victory over Cross Keys at Eugene Cross Park.
It was a breathless affair that consisted of six tries, four yellow cards and one red, though it was far from a dirty encounter.
Richard Wilkes, Andrew Bevan, Bryan Shelbourne and Simon Hunt crossed for the hosts while Leon Andrews and James Leadbetter were on the scoresheet for the visitors.
Meanwhile Newport suffered a 12-9 defeat to Bedwas at Rodney Parade, a loss that sums up their disappointing season.
