JACK Shore won his first fight as a featherweight in UFC and then revealed his father Richard was in his corner while having treatment for cancer.
The 28-year-old from Abertillery enjoyed a second-round submission success over Finland's Makwan Amirkhani in London.
It was a sixth win in seven UFC fights for Shore, who moved to featherweight after having difficulties in cutting down for bantamweight.
The success was all the more remarkable given matters outside the octagon with legendary mixed martial arts trainer Richard Shore going through chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with cancer in November.
Them Shores are bred tough. 💪

"It's been a tough camp with what my old man has been going through,” said Jack Shore afterwards.
"He is such a strong, out-there character, we're used to him not missing a session in the gym and being on that pace constantly.
"For him to have to be absent at times because of the treatment [was tough] - he literally finished chemo two weeks ago. He had a week of rest and then it was fight week.
"At the beginning when I got offered the fight I didn't want to take it because of the timescale but he said to. He's got radiotherapy next week and we will get through that."
