GWENT fighter Kieran Gething will attempt to get back on a winning run when he returns to the ring in Cardiff this month.
The 29-year-old will headline a show at Vale Sports Arena on Friday, September 15 when he takes on Asinia Byfield, a former British and WBO oriental title challenge from Reading.
Gething enjoyed three wins on the spin after the Covid pandemic but that streak was ended on home soil in Abergavenny at the start of July by Sion Yaxley.
The highly-rated north Walian maintained his unbeaten record with a unanimous points decision to claim the Celtic and IBO Continental super welter belts.

It was still a strong showing by Gething and he will aim to triumph on the seven-fight card in the capital, a show promoted by Mo Prior in association with Shadow Box Promotions.
The other boxers include exciting heavyweight Miles Gordon Darby, Jordan Withers after a two-year absence, rising fighters Aaron Bird, Tom James and Mark Davies while Rashid Omar, the Welsh lightweight champion, faces compatriot Phil Price in a non-title fight.
Standing tickets cost £40 and seated ringside tickets are £70, contact gethingsports@outlook.com for more information.
