NEWPORT County striker Will Evans has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award following an impressive start to the season.
Evans is amongst two strikers and a winger in the league who are also up for the award for August for their fantastic goals this season.
The Newport County striker scored six goals in five games, which is half of Newport's August total and offers a physical presence on and off the bar.
Evans started the campaign brilliantly for the Exiles, after returning to his favoured position upfront from left wing-back.
The 26-year-old is dominant in the air and showed his strength and pace to run beyond defenders to score two goals at Forest Green on August 19.
He also scored against Sutton United on Saturday, August 26 and at Rodney Parade against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, September 2.
Evans has surpassed his tally of four goals for the 2022/2023 season, when he played as a left wing-back.
Now the striker has been noticed for his fantastic start to the season and joins Abo Eisa, Grimsby Town, Davis Keillor-Dunn, Mansfield Town and Jake Young, Swindon Town who are also up for the award.
The Winner will be announced on Friday, September 8, a day before County travel to Crawley Town.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
