ABERGAVENNY'S traditional Boxing Day hunt kicked off with both supporters and protesters at the event.
Starting outside The Angel Hotel at 11am - the traditional meeting point for the hunt - horses, riders and hounds made their way through the town centre. It's a Boxing Day tradition going back more than 80 years.
Protestors who oppose trail hunting with dogs held up placards calling the huntsmen 'cowards' and calling for an end to the fox hunt. Police were also in attendance to ensure tempers didn't boil over.
There were also residents out in support of the hunt who clapped and cheered as the riders set off.
