Getting to Principality Stadium

Train

Those looking to catch the train into the Wales v Scotland match at Principality Stadium in Cardiff are being urged to plan ahead of time due to strikes.

Members from the union Aslef have launched a fresh wave of strikes in a long-running dispute over pay which will run until Monday (February 5).

There is also a ban on overtime which will be in place until Tuesday (February 6).

Train drivers from the following companies will be on strike on Saturday (February 3) for the Wales v Scotland Game:

  • West Midlands Trains
  • Avanti West Coast
  • East Midlands Railway

GWR services between Newport - Cardiff - Bridgend - Swansea - Carmarthen may also be affected due to the overtime ban.

You can read more about the train services set to be impacted on Saturday here.

Transport for Wales (TfW) is not a part of the strike action so services will be operating as normal for the Six Nations clash between Wales and Scotland, but are likely to be "extremely busy".

Services between Pontypridd and Treherbert will however be impacted by infrastructure upgrades for the South Wales Metro with this resulting in buses replacing rail services all day.

A post-match queuing system will be in place at Cardiff Central station and passenger numbers will be restricted for return journeys.

There are several bus services that will be operating on gameday, these include:
