CWMBRAN archer Dave Phillips won gold at the European Para Championships after joining forces with Cameron Radigan.
The pair finished first in the competition in Rome after beating the hosts in the final of the recurve men’s open doubles.
In the quarter-finals the pair beat the Czech Republic 6-2 and then repeated that scoreline against Ukraine in the semis.
That set up a final against the Italian duo of Davide Bettoni and Stefano Travisani and, after opening with consecutive ends of 37 points, they won 5-1.
It is another medal on the CV for Paralympian Phillips ahead of World MS Day on Thursday.
Coach Charlotte Burgess said: "They know how to support and communicate each other's needs.
“This only comes with the amount of time they have committed and trained together. I couldn't be happier.”
Great Britain won five medals in total with Scotland’s Radigan also winning the recurve men’s open.
VI 2/3 archer Nick Thomas won bronze while Phoebe Paterson Pine earned herself two medals this trip, joining forces with Nathan Macqueen for bronze in the compound open mixed category and then finishing third with Jodie Grinham for the compound women’s open doubles.
