FORMER Newport County AFC striker Nat Jarvis is returning to Spytty Park after signing for Newport City.

The 32-year-old will play for the Steelmen in Cymru South after signing from National League South Taunton Town.

Jarvis played for the Exiles under Justin Edinburgh in the National League on loan from Cardiff City in 2011/12.

He scored nine times and made the last of his 39 appearances against York City in the FA Trophy final defeat to York City at Wembley.

Jarvis went on to have spells with Forest Green and Kidderminster before moving on to Brackley, Bath, Gloucester City, Cirencester, Hungerford, Bath and Chippenham.

He had a pair of campaigns at Barry Town United in the Cymru Premier before spending the last two seasons with Taunton.

He becomes the fourth signing of the summer for City, who won promotion by beating Cefn Cribwr in a play-off after finishing as Ardal SE runners-up behind Trethomas Bluebirds.

"Big, strong, athletic and plenty of experience to bring to the squad. We can’t wait to see Nat back at Newport Stadium (Spytty) for the season ahead," said the club on social media.

Sam Houldsworth's men have already added Caerau Ely defender Lathan Garrett, former Barry Town United defender Luke Cooper and Goytre striker Josh Graham.
