TORFAEN Warriors continue to develop champions as they celebrate their 31st year in boxing.
The Cwmbran gym have enjoyed a successful season where plenty of fighters won medals.
Aaron Oakley won gold at the Welsh Box Cup in September, Riley Wheatstone claimed silver and then gold at the Pirkka Cup in Finland in May, and Owain Short won Box Cup gold and Pirkka Cup silver.
Jenzen Miguel-Powell won gold in the West Division Box Cup, gold at the Pirkka Cup (where he won best schools boxer), was Welsh schools champion for 60kg and a British silver medallist.
Shane McIntyre won Welsh Box Cup gold last September and in June, was a Welsh junior finalist, won gold at the Pirkka Cup and was a British silver medallist, while Lucas Lee-Churcher won Welsh Box Cup silver last month.
“We have eight hard-working coaches giving up their free time to make this gym successful,” said Simon Weaver.
“Even the bouts we lost have mostly been split decisions, showing how close they are all getting.
“A big thank you to the families, coaches and friends who play a big part in making our gym as successful as it is.”
Torfaen Warriors train on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Court Road Industrial Estate in Cwmbran, above Beverstock Tools.
