The Rhymney Valley Athletics Club's mini quad event saw almost 50 youngsters take part in a range of athletics disciplines

The event was held at the CCBC Athletics Hub in Oakdale, attracted 48 young athletes.

Children under the age of 7 and those up to school year 6 took part in various athletic activities including running, jumping, throwing, and an endurance challenge.

The event was designed to provide a broad athletic experience for all participants.

All the athletes were recognised with outstanding performance awards.

These awards were selected by the young leaders who had coached the participants throughout the event.

These awards recognised the exceptional efforts and sportsmanship displayed by everyone involved.

Deb Howells, Rhymney Valley Athletics Club chairperson, said: "We are incredibly proud of all the young athletes who took part.

"Their dedication and enthusiasm were truly inspiring.

"This event highlighted the importance of youth engagement in athletics and the fantastic opportunities available at our club."
