CHEPSTOW Town made a remarkable start to the Ardal South East season by hammering Undy AFC 11-2.

The visitors were actually two goals down at the Causeway after a pair of early strikes by Gareth Cullimore.

However, they came roaring back to be 4-2 up after half an hour thanks to goals by Adam Wakley (2), Mal Graham and Josh Parsons.

Both teams were then reduced to 10 men after red cards for Chris Parry and Deon Smith before a penalty by Matty Board made it 5-2 at the break.

Further goals came in the second half from Wakley (2), Olly Melling (2), Josh Pearson and Charlie Powell.

Abergavenny's return to the Ardal Leagues started with a goalless draw with Canton but Abertillery were in the goals after their Cymru South relegation.

They enjoyed a 7-3 home win over Tredegar Town thanks to goals by Curtis Methven (3), Ben Taylor (2) and Iwan John. Thomas Spruce and Dafydd Jones were on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Croesyceiliog were 5-0 home winners over Caldicot after goals by Owen Llewellyn (2), Lewis Green (2) and Jack Sainsbury.

There was just one goal at Parc Taf Bargoed when Munyaradzi Mabwe won it for Treharris Athletic Western against Risca United.

Goytre edged out Blaenavon Blues 2-1 thanks to a Chris Ham winner after Robert Jones and Ben Williams had traded strikes.

Abercarn United and Newport Corinthians started with a point apiece, Alex Adams levelling for the hosts from the spot on the hour after Lewis Brown's early opener.

Brecon Corries started with a 2-0 away win at Treowen Stars thanks to goals by Joel Evans and Craig Evans.

The next round of fixtures are next Tuesday with the first qualifying round of the Welsh Cup taking place this weekend.

The Cymru South gets under way after the clubs were in Nathaniel MG Cup action last weekend.

Newport City travel to Ammanford on Friday then on Saturday Cwmbran Celtic host Cambrian United and Trethomas Bluebirds head to Llantwit Major.

The Bluebirds are the only Gwent team left in the Nathaniel MG Cup and will face Baglan Dragons in round two on the first weekend of August.
