NEWPORT County AFC’s League Two trip to Bradford City has been moved to a Monday for live coverage on Sky Sports.

The Exiles’ game at Valley Parade will be played on Monday, October 7 (kick-off 8pm) and shown on the broadcaster’s main channel for football.

It is one of several fixtures to be shifted, in part due to new English Football League deal that will see more games shown on Sky Sports + and also to avoid clashes with the Dragons.

The schedule has been confirmed for the period up to the FA Cup third round on the weekend of January 11.

The game against Chesterfield at Rodney Parade will now be played on Friday, October 18 (kick-off 8pm) – that will be on Sky Sports + and the change avoids a direct clash with the Dragons’ game against Benetton.

The November trip to Notts County remains on Saturday, November 23 but will now kick off at 12.30pm.

Three fixtures have changed at the start of 2025, although not for TV coverage, with the New Year’s Day game against AFC Wimbledon in Newport moved back to Thursday, January 2 (kick-off 7.45pm).

The home encounter with Morecambe has subsequently moved to Sunday, January 5 (kick-off 3pm).

The Rodney Parade date with Swindon Town has also moved to Friday, January 24 (kick-off 7.45pm), although that is to avoid a clash with the Dragons’ game against Munster.

“These selections have been published before the start of the EFL season, ensuring clubs are now in a position to advise supporters of the changes to be made well in advance of the fixtures taking place,” read a statement about the TV picks.

“Selections have been made by Sky after liaising with the respective clubs, relevant authorities and the League.

“This new notice period is a significant improvement on the previous position, which saw five weeks' notice given across the majority of the season.

“By selecting TV picks early and giving much more notice, fans will be able to plan with more certainty when making travel and hotel arrangements.

“While some fixtures have been moved in order to be broadcast, during a regular weekend, 26 of the 36 matches across the three divisions have not been moved from the Saturday 3pm kick off slot.

“The League is also committed to greater parity in the number of times that clubs are selected for TV coverage across all competitions, with clubs set to feature more than 20 times per season on Sky Sports.”

Meanwhile, tickets for County’s League Two opener at Cheltenham go on sale for season ticket holders and Supporters Trust members on Wednesday.

There will be a staggered sale after the Exiles were given an allocation of 1,047 for the shortest trip of the campaign on Saturday, August 10.

“Due to the expected demand for tickets the club, following discussions with the Supporters Trust, will operate a priority sales process,” read a statement.

“The club will also be introducing a points system as the season progresses to supplement future priority sales. Further details to follow in due course.”

One ticket per person will be on sale online for season ticket holders and Trust members from Wednesday, with the in-person option from Thursday.

On Friday they will go on general sale, both online and in person, with a limit of two tickets per person.
