WALKER Price will return to Pontypool after his try-scoring exploits for Wales at the end of the World Rugby U20 Championship.
The 20-year-old from Rogerstone scored three tries in 13 outings when sent out for Pooler action by the Dragons academy last season.
Price will feature again for Leighton Jones’ side in the inaugural Super Rygbi Cymru campaign, fresh from an impressive late effort for the Welsh youngsters in South Africa.
The winger featured in the Six Nations but missed out on the World Rugby U20 Championship, only to get a late call-up because of injuries.
Price started in the finale against South Africa and scored a pair of smart tries in the loss to the hosts in Cape Town.
He has been joined in signing up for Pooler by fellow winger Harry Jarvis, who played twice for the club in permit last season, and full-back Lewis Bates, who made a handful of outings for Newport in the Premiership.
There are two new scrum-halves in Dylan Davies, who joins from Ebbw Vale, and Archie Lloyd, who played for Pooler on permit from Builth Wells at RGC in April.
Connor Chapman and Jacob Jeremiah will try to earn the 2 jersey after arriving from Cardiff Met and Cwmbran.
Pontypool start their preparations for the SRC campaign this weekend when they make the short trip over the border to play round robin fixtures with hosts Dings Crusaders and Old Redcliffians.
Next weekend Jones' men will travel to the West Midlands to play Moseley; the famous clubs have only previously met at the Snelling Sevens.
Pooler finish with a trip to Beavis Memorial Ground to face Cinderford on Saturday, August 31.
A strong pre-season is needed to build up towards a tough SRC opener on September 14 when Pooler, who finished sixth on their return to the top flight last season, entertain Premiership and Premiership Cup winners Llandovery.
