NEWPORT Cycle Speedway legend Ben Mould was crowned the European champion at the ICSF European Championships in Poland.
The competition is a major event in the cycle speedway calendar, attracting top riders from across Europe.
This time it was held in Torun and featured intense competition across various categories, including veterans, juniors, and women.
In challenging weather conditions and fierce rivalries, Welsh riders delivered standout performances and Mould retained the European Open individual title.
He took the win, lifting the trophy he won in Manchester two years ago, after triumphing in a three-rider run off for the title after the trio had finished on 18 points each.
In the run-off, Mould drew the favourable inside grid and sped away to win by a clear margin, as his two Polish opponents battled each other behind him, with Mikolaj Menz finishing second and Dawid Bas third.
The Newport great has won world, European and British titles over a career that has spanned two decades, cementing him as one of the finest riders ever.
