WELSH Fire will play in the final of The Hundred at Lord’s thanks to a nine-wicket win against Southern Brave at Utilita Bowl.

West Indies’ Hayley Matthews continued her remarkable all-round form with four for 14 before hitting an unbeaten 35.

With Tammy Beaumont’s 59 from 40 balls, the visitors knocked off their target of 104 with 26 deliveries to spare.

That ensured that the Fire finished top of the table ahead of Oval Invincibles, who feature Newport’s Sophia Smale, on run rate with the London side hosting third-placed London Spirit on Saturday.

The winners of that clash will take on the Welsh side at Lord’s on Sunday (2.15pm) with the men’s final following in a double-header (6pm).

Matthews said: “I think we’ve been really good (throughout the season). When you look at our line-up, we’ve got a lot of experience, and we’ve played on that really well.

“The bowlers have done a really good job at making sure we don’t have to chase too big of a total. I think it’s been a complete team performance and that’s where we’ve performed really well, everyone’s been chipping in and playing their role.”
