TORFAEN Pickleball Club held a day-long festival to raise funds for local charities as part of its 10-year anniversary celebrations.
The Cwmbran Stadium-based club, one of the first in the UK and boasting 150 members, held a fundraised event.
Over 60 players from the club aged 35 and over, including some of the 80-year-old old members, took part in the day-long festival that lasted over six hours.
Pickleball has become one of the world's fastest growing sports with an estimated 36.5 million players now playing worldwide. Torfaen is one of the biggest clubs in Wales and caters for all ages and abilities.
The Torfaen Pickleball Festival was a great success with all entry fees, raffle money, and donations all going to charity.
The Club raised £1,404, which has been equally divided and presented to Ty Hafan and St David's Hospice Care.
Pickleball continues to grow and develop across Wales, with club coaches also visiting local primary schools to encourage the children to play and develop their skills, along with coaching three times a week for new and aspiring players.
A club player said: “It was a wonderful day of pickleball for the club with some of our top players sharing their skills with club members and all in the aid of charity, a win-win for everyone.”
