THE Dragons A side made it a derby double by beating the Ospreys 38-17 in Swansea.
The Rodney Parade club’s mixture of fringe players with a point to prove ahead of the return of the United Rugby Championship and young prospects took the spoils at St Helen’s.
After a one-sided, 11-try 73-21 rout against the Scarlets in Newport, this development fixture served more of a purpose.
Cameron Lewis went over from a driving lineout after 12 minutes for the Ospreys but the Dragons led 12-5 at the break courtesy of late strikes.

The speedster went over again soon after the restart by finishing off after a break and kick by Newport’s former Dragons centre David Richards.
It was 26-5 when impressive back rower Evan Minto put over hooker Oli Burrows then Black and Ambers winger Lloyd Lewis crossed from a Morgan Lloyd kick.
Pontypool centre Joel Mahoney went over for the Dragons’ sixth try in between efforts by the Ospreys.
The Dragons’ senior side returns to action in the URC with a derby clash at Cardiff on November 30 when interim head coach Filo Tiatia calls the shots for the first time.
