NEWPORT County AFC have a midfield injury headache for tomorrow's League Two trip to Notts County (kick-off 12.30pm) after the loss of Aaron Wildig – and they will also be without winger Bobby Kamwa.
The Exiles will be without captain Wildig for the rest of the season after he ruptured knee ligaments in the 0-0 draw with Grimsby.
County are also still without loanee midfielders Jamie Miley and Noah Mawene for the coming weeks.
Newcastle's Miley has a back problem and has missed the last two games while Preston's Mawene has been out since suffering a hamstring injury against Chesterfield in mid-October and is expected to be out for another two to three weeks.
That leaves head coach Nelson Jardim with a midfield headache with Bryn Morris the only fit experienced player in the middle of the park.
EFL novices Kai Whitmore and Cameron Antwi are central options along with Kieron Evans, who has played out wide lately.
Defenders Shane McLoughlin, Cameron Evans, Matt Baker and Ciaran Brennan have also played in midfield but Jardim will be reluctant to break up that quartet after a clean sheet against Grimsby.
Winger Kamwa went down on the stroke of half-time against the Mariners with a hamstring strain and will sit out the trip to the East Midlands.
After being knocked out of the FA Cup in the first round, County then have a blank weekend before a Tuesday trip to AFC Wimbledon and crucial home encounter with struggling Carlisle.
Kamwa could come into the mix for those fixtures, with Michael Spellman the leading candidate to take his place against the Magpies.
“Bobby will be out at least another week. We don’t want to make the condition worse,” said Jardim.
Left-back/winger Anthony Glennon is also sidelined with a back problem after missing the last three fixtures while striker Hamzad Kargbo is nearing a return after suffering a dislocated shoulder at Cheltenham on opening weekend.
Central defender Kyle Jameson serves the final game of his suspension for a second red card of the season.
