COUNTY in the Community plan to put on regular events after former Wales internationals Nathan Blake and Kit Symons proved to be a hit in a Q&A.
The charity held the event at BarCode in the city, a kick away from the Exiles’ Rodney Parade home, with BBC Wales’ Rob Phillips playing host.
Ex-Manchester City captain, Fulham, Wales and Wales assistant manager Symons and local legend Nathan Blake, the former Newport, Cardiff, Bolton and Wolves striker, kept a capacity crowd thoroughly entertained with stories from their playing days and anecdotes about teammates and managers.
Phillips opened the session up to questions from the floor which were answered honestly and with a great deal of humour.
Norman Parselle, chief executive of County in the Community said: “We can’t thank Kit, Nathan and Rob enough for attending and making the evening such a success.
“This was our first venture into this type of event, and it is something we are looking to put on every couple of months.”
