GAVIN Henson has been ruled out of the Welsh team to face South Africa tomorrow because of an Achilles' tendon injury.
Henson was a late withdrawal from the side today after assistant coach Rob Howley initially declared at a Press conference the centre would be fit and that missing a couple of sessions this week because of the Achilles' problem was not an issue.
But Henson then informed Wales coach Warren Gatland that he was not fit to play physically or mentally and another Press conference was hastily called to explain that the player was, in fact, out of the team.
Tom Shanklin is recalled after initially being dropped though he will play at outside centre with birthday boy Jamie Roberts moving back to inside centre.
Shanklin's place on the bench will be taken by Andrew Bishop of the Ospreys.
