KERRY Hope will not be fighting on the undercard of the Madison Square Garden showdown between Roy Jones Jr and Joe Calzaghe.
Hope, who was the only British fighter on the undercard, was scheduled to face Brooklyn native Willie Lee, a former victim of Chad Dawson.
However, while Hope was right on the button when he stepped onto the scales, Lee was 5lbs over the limit and will now not be allowed to fight tomorrow.
"It's a massive blow for me, I don't really know what to say about it," a devastated Hope reflected.
Both Joe Calzaghe and Roy Jones hit the scales and came in half a lb under the 175lbs limit.
The weigh-in was a chaotic affair with fans unable to get in due to issues over insurance.
One interested spectator however, was Mikkel Kessler who chatted with the Argus and confirmed his desire for a rematch with Calzaghe.
