NEWPORT and Cross Keys piled the misery on their struggling Gwent rivals with wins this afternoon.
Cross Keys won 36-12 at second from bottom Ebbw Vale thanks to tries from and Nathan Trowbridge, Marcus Johnston and Jevon Groves as well as 19 points from the boot of Gareth David.
The clash between Newport and Pontypool at Rodney Parade was a chaotic affair with the visitors picking up a raft of yellow cards and one red.
The Black and Ambers triumphed 53-14 in a game marred by brawling.
