CROSS Keys forwards coach Greg Woods lamented over a mad few moments that allowed Glamorgan Wanderers to steal the spoils at Pandy Park.
The home side bossed proceedings yet a losing bonus point was all that they had to show for their efforts thanks to a last-minute try and nerveless conversion from Keys old boy Scott Sneddon.
“I am bitterly disappointed and unbelievably frustrated,” admitted Woods.
“We dominated the game but made some poor decisions – not taking three points, rushing things when we didn’t have to and throwing passes when we didn’t have to.
“Even if we had scored from the quick tap penalty I would have told them it was a bad decision – we brought Gareth David to the club to kick points like that.
“It was a ridiculous decision and the boys know that.
“For about 76 minutes everyone was on the money but we shot ourselves in the foot at crucial times.
“It’s not good enough and we let them out of jail.
“It’s quiet in the changing-room and we didn’t need to say a word.”
Woods added: “We are very hard on each other but that can be done on Tuesday, after the match is not the time.
“Some boys in there didn’t deserve to be on the losing side but they finished that try well and Scott Sneddon, fair play to him, nails a pressure kick to steal it.
“Lloyd Burns was immense – they couldn’t handle him and he was massive in defence and was stopping everyone who came his way.
“If we want to be a play-off side, which we think we can be, then we have to win these games.”
Keys now trail the Wanderers by nine points and will bid to get back on the horse when they host Bedwas on Saturday.
