WALES centre Hal Luscombe has suffered a setback and is now extremely doubtful for Newport Gwent Dragons for Saturday's Celtic League clash with bottom team Connacht in Galway.
He was forced off in the second half of last Friday's game against Munster and there are fears he may even have cracked a rib.
He is in pain in the ribs and chest area and is unable to train.
There is even a doubt about him for next week's two Welsh derbies against Cardiff Blues at Rodney Parade on Wednesday and against Llanelli Scarlets at Stradey Park a week Saturday.
He was hoping for a big finish to his seven-year stint at Rodney Parade with Newport and the Dragons before joining the Harlequins on a two-year contract. But that is now in jeopardy.
Dragons coach Paul Turner is likely to pair Ceri Sweeney and Jon Bryant in the centre for the important game against Connacht which the Dragons are targeting along with the Blues match.
But even if they win in Galway they won't go above the Ospreys in the table because their Welsh rivals, who are three points ahead of them, will obtain four points from a free weekend.
But the Scarlets, just two points ahead of the Dragons though with two games in hand, could be vulnerable, facing Leinster in Dublin on Friday night.
Luscombe is the only doubt from the side who gained a magnificent victory against Munster, and Turner is not expected to make many, if any, other changes to the starting line-up.
The Dragons will not be pursuing Darren Morris, the 18-times capped former Wales prop, who has been released by Leicester.
The dates for the final three league games, all against Scottish opposition, have now been decided.
The Dragons will face Glasgow at home on Friday April 28 (7.10pm), Edinburgh at home on Saturday May 13 (5.30pm) and Borders away on Friday May 26 (7.30pm).
Dragons squad for Connacht: A Thomas, G Wyatt, H Luscombe, J Bryant, C Sweeney, N Brew, C Warlow, G Baber, J Ireland, A Black, D Maddocks, S Jones, A Brown, R Thomas, C Anthony, I Gough, L Charteris, P Sidoli, A Hall, R Oakley, J Ringer, M Owen, J Forster (captain). Kick off 2.30pm.
