CWMBRAN Town manager Sean Wharton locks horns with his mentor, Brian Coyne, at Aberystwyth's Park Avenue ground tomorrow afternoon (kick-off 2.30pm).
Coyne, the former Crows boss, is now in charge of Aberystwyth, and Wharton said: "I have the utmost respect for Brian. I served my managerial apprenticeship under him. I speak to him every week."
Cwmbran, facing three games in the space of six days, are unbeaten in their last six games - and the form gives Wharton cause for optimism.
He said: "Six weeks ago we didn't know where we were going to get our next point from. We have come on massively since then and and I have already had players saying they want to be part of the Cwmbran set-up next season.
"We're looking forward to tomorrow's game, we've got a game plan and we will be looking to do our best. I have a lot of confidence in the lads."
However, Cwmbran could well face a last-game decider in the Welsh Premier League. The Crows travel to NEWI Cefn Druids to complete this season's fixtures and the Druids are two points ahead with a game in hand.
They were due to play at Caersws on Tuesday night but the game was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
Connah's Quay Nomads moved a point further away from the Crows with a 1-1 draw at Newtown. Both the Druids and Nomads - who meet tomorrow - have a better goal difference than the Crows who are facing an increasingly difficult task to survive.
Now that Kristian Hanbury has recovered from a groin injury, manager Sean Wharton has a full squad at his disposal.
- The Crows will kick-off at 2pm on Easter Monday at home to Bangor City, the start brought forward by 30 minutes at the request of Cwmbran Stadium, their landlords. Bangor readily agreed to an earlier start and the league, along with the officials, gave it the thumbs up.
Cwmbran round off the Easter programme with the rearranged home game with Porthmadog.
- Gareth Owen, who scored the Airbus UK goal in their draw at Cwmbran on Saturday, won the March player-of-the-month award. The former Wrexham player was chosen for his midfield consistency, not only during the month but throughout the season.
