NEWPORT County boss Peter Beadle believes the pressure is off his players as they head into tomorrow's penultimate Conference South clash of the season, away at Cambridge City (kick-off 3pm).
County are one of several sides battling to beat the drop as the season draws to an exciting conclusion, but after a run of seven games undefeated recently, Beadle believes his team can head to Cambridge with confidence.
His side are six points clear of the drop-zone and know four points from their remaining two games (Thurrock at home follow next Saturday) would guarantee survival.
He said: "After losing to Farnborough on Monday (2-1) myself and Scott Young have had a few chats with a few players to get them upbeat again and looking to tomorrow.
"The situation is still in our hands and that is how we like it, it could be all over with a win on Saturday, or it could go to the final day of the season again, we can't control that.
"But what we can control is our own performances and our own composure, because on current form we are one of the top six or so sides in Conference South, we've not lost in six of our last seven.
"To move above us, Hayes need to win all three of their remaining games and they haven't won any game for quite a while, so the pressure is firmly on them.
"But no-one should be concerned that we are going to rest on our laurels, that is not how we do things."
Beadle is expecting to name the same side that beat Histon dramatically last Saturday and then lost to Farnborough on Easter Monday.
Midfielder Ashley Williams is available again, as is flu victim Geraint Bater, but Beadle will resist the temptation to change things about.
"We will stick with the same side if possible because they did nothing wrong at all at the weekend, they were magnificent at Histon and very good against an excellent Farnborough side," he said.
"It is good to have Ashley and Geraint back and in contention, but they will understand that we want to keep the same side.
"We are also expecting to take a great support with us again, the supporters were sensational over the Easter programme and we will do everything in our power to give them what they want."
County likely: Pennock, Thomas, Cochlin, Davies, Brough, Hillier, Bowen, Fisken, Green, Hughes, O'Sullivan. Subs: Bradley, Bater, Williams, Toppar, Bailey/Prosser
