LAST season’s league top goalscorer Dean Morgan, was in scintillating form on Saturday, scoring six for Govilon in their 9-2 victory over Cefn Fforest at their King George V Ground Richard McCarthy with a brace and Craig Thomas, adding to the tally.

There was no change at the top of the table as the top four clubs all recorded victories. At Bush Park Treowen Stars defeated Undy Athletic by the odd goal in five Luke Evans, 2 and Jamie Russell, the markesmen.

John Lillygreen, scored the only goal of the game to give Albion Rovers victory when visiting Clydach Wasps, who have lost form recently, but all the league hope they get back to winning ways next Saturday when they play Glan Conway in the Final of the FAW Trophy at Aberystwyth.

Abercarn United continued with their recent good form with a 2-1 away win at Mardy Alex Whatley, and Rory Davies, the goalscorers which move them up into Forth place. Blaenavon Blues and Spencer Youth & BC shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Coop Field Neil Cox, scoring for the Blues Josh Burrows, for the Boys Club.

Second Division leaders PILCS returned from Llanfabon Drive with a 3-0 victory over Trethomas Bluebirds Mathew Shearman, Daniel Ronan, and Darren Phillips, all on the scoresheet. Second placed AC Pontymister were made to fight all the way for their 2-1 victory at the Bowling Green by Newport Corinthians Michael Howe, and Chris Woods, the goalscorers.

RTB Ebbw Vale had a good 2-1 away win at Llanhilleth Athletic Mark Congreve and Lewys Thomas, the markesmen. Lee Williams scored the only goal of the game to give Fairfield United a home victory over Sudbrook Cricket Club Panteg AFC and Cromwell AFC shared six goals at Panteg House Tom Wise, Mathew Cameron, and James Wilkins, the goalscorers for Panteg Andrew Mcleod, a brace and Steve Davies, for Cromwell.

In the Third Division quite a fight is on between the top four for the two promotion places. Third placed Llanwern RTB easily defeated bottom club Crickhowell 9-2 with goals from Adam Chambers (5) and one apiece from Dylan Powell, Gareth Bates, John Heard, and Aaron Lewis.

Pill AFC returned from Pontypool College with a 4-1 victory over Race AFC Tristan Chambers, Niall Simmons (2) and Ashley Ball the marksmen. At Islwyn Park Fleur-de-Lys Welfare defeated Sebastopol AFC by three goals scored by Harry Miles (2) and Daniel Coles. Villa Dino Christchurch had a 4-3 home win over Underwood AFC David Evans (2). Byron Wall and Peter Scarfi scoring the goals.
