TIGER Woods looked set for his heaviest defeat in the Ryder, as another birdie gave Donald and Westwood the 11th hole with Stricker missing from four feet, putting the European pair six up with just seven to play.
Woods' worst defeat to date was a 5&4 fourball loss with Jim Furyk against Stuart Appleby and Vijay Singh in 2007.
Better news for the Americans came from the impressive rookie Jeff Overton, who holed his approach to the eighth for an eagle two to get back to one down to Peter Hanson and Miguel Angel Jimenez, prompting an ear-splitting bout of screaming and shouting from him and partner Bubba Watson.
