TEN-MAN Newport County hung on for a point after blowing a three goal lead in an extraordinary match at Field Mill this evening.
The returning Charlie Griffin set up Robbie Matthews for the opener after just 21 seconds before adding the second just a minute later as the Exiles made a dream start.
Danny Rose vollied in Griffin's cross on 28 minutes but Louis Moult poulled one back almost straightaway for the Stags.
County then had Chris Todd sent off for hauling down Moult in the area and Louis Briscoe thumped home the penalty.
And the comeback was complete in first-half stoppage time when Moult headed home from a corner.
Despite a lot of pressure from the Stags they couldn't find a winner after the break and County settled for a very hard-earned point.
