PAUL Bignot is your Newport County player of the year for the 2010/11 season.
The rock-steady right-back topped a poll of Argus readers ahead of midfielders Jamie Collins in second and Darryl Knights in third.
The award caps a fantastic season for Bignot, who also won the fans’ player of the year and players’ player of the year prizes at the official club awards evening last month.
“It’s been a great year for me personally and this is another great honour that I wasn’t expecting,” said the 25-year-old.
“We would have loved to have made the play-offs but from a personal point of view this season has got to be up there with my best ever,” he added.
“I made my debut for the England C team and I enjoyed every minute of it. To get this recognition from County fans is massive and it just makes it all the more special.”
