AS expected, Gwent's Jack Collison has been recalled to the Wales squad for the first time in more than 14 months for the forthcoming Carling Nations Cup fixtures in Dublin.

The 22-year-old West Ham midfielder has only just made his comeback after a long lay-off with a knee injury, playing 26 minutes in the Hammers' 1-1 draw with Blackburn at the weekend.

Prior to that Collison had been sidelined since March of last year, having been injured in Wales' friendly defeat to Sweden at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea.

Gary Speed is without the injured Gareth Bale, who has been ruled for the rest of Tottenham's season with ankle ligament damage.

However, Celtic's Joe Ledley has been included despite missing the remainder of the domestic season after aggravating a hamstring injury in the Old Firm clash against Rangers last month.

Swansea midfielder David Cotterill also returns to the squad having not featured since scoring in the 5-1 friendly victory over Luxembourg back in August.

Wales face Scotland on May 25 and Northern Ireland on May 27 at the Aviva Stadium as Speed looks to record his first win as national team boss, having lost his only two matches in charge - a friendly against the Republic of Ireland and the Euro 2012 qualifier at home to England.
