GWENT'S Nathan Cleverly will take on Aleksy Kuziemski on Saturday night after his hastily-arranged fight against Tony Bellew was scrapped due to the challenger failing to make the weight.

Cleverly was named WBO light-heavyweight champion this week after Juergen Braehmer was stripped of his title following his late withdrawal from their scheduled fight at London's O2 Arena.

Welshman Cleverly, who was previously 'interim' champion, was then handed a first defence of his new belt against domestic rival Bellew, the Commonwealth champion from Liverpool.

But promoter Frank Warren tonight confirmed Bellew would not fight, with Poland's Kuziemski stepping in at late notice and due to arrive in London this evening.

Warren told Sky Sports News: "It's been a nightmare to say the least.

"But we've managed to keep the show together."

He added: "Tony Bellew contacted me to say he wanted the fight. He said he was within four pounds of the weight but unfortunately that wasn't the case."
