Premier League newcomers the Plymouth Devils are at Queensway Meadows to take on the Newport Wasps tomorrow night (tapes up 7pm).

The Devon club was a dominant factor in British speedway's third tier from the rekindling of the sport in the city in 2006 and successfully applied for elevation to the Premier League during the close season.

They have a strong top two in Great Britain international Ben Barker and the experienced Jason Bunyan.

Both are also among the most robust and spectacular racers in the country and each Wasp will know he has been in a tough contest on track when the chequered flag falls.

The home side will be seeking a second consecutive home victory having defeated the Sheffield Tigers last Saturday.

"Our two new signings Jason Doyle and Justin Sedgmen have proved to form a strong opening partnership in heat one and throughout the programme," said team manager Kevin Brown.

"We are capable of getting off to a flying start and keeping up the momentum.

"We are aiming for more points this weekend and despite still waiting for Kyle Legault to recover from his finger operation we are confident that we are the stronger side on balance."

Both sides will in fact operate the rider replacement rule with Plymouth missing the injured Lee Smart.
