HOT prospect Craig Evans is looking forward to a good rest after recording his fourth win out of four fights as a professional.
The 21-year-old super-featherweight from Blackwood, pictured left, beat Norfolk’s Scott Moises at the Echo Arena in Liverpool last Saturday.
And, with the backing of promoter Frank Warren, the youngster is already looking ahead to bigger and better things after his summer break.
“I’ve got a bit of an aching shoulder but I’m feeling good,” said Evans.
“I’m over the moon with the win against an awkward guy who was a lot taller than me and after the first round he was just holding me.
“I just had to be patient and work behind the jab and I got the decision in the end.”
Evans won on a technical decision after Moises received an accidental head injury in the fifth round and the verdict went to the Gwent star on points.
“It was my first six-rounder and, although I was gutted the way it ended, it was a good earning fight for me,” he explained.
“I felt like I could have gone 12 rounds because I’m in such good shape.
“I’ll have a week or two off now and then just keep myself ticking over with a few runs,” he added.
“My promoter was very happy with me and I’ll just wait to see what he offers now.
“I’ve just got to keep winning and keep progressing and I know I’ll get to where I want to be.
“I will hopefully be on a Nathan Cleverly bill, possibly in Cardiff, at the end of September but I’ll just wait and see what comes my way.”
