GLAMORGAN’S game with Essex at Chelmsford was washed out last night - their second CB40 match to be abandoned in four days.
Opener Gareth Rees put the visitors in a good position with his excellent 101 as Glamorgan reached 251-8 off 38 overs.
Heavy rain fell but Essex were able to get under way having been set 133 to win from 15 overs.
Ex-England pace ace Simon Jones showed some of his old magic to remove Adam Wheater and Graham Napier, leaving Essex on 53-2 after 6.2 overs before the rain returned to spoil what was shaping up to be a potential thriller.
Each side were awarded a point.
