NEWPORT County have posted a statement on their official website about the injury to Bolton's Chung-Yong Lee.
The statement, in the name of director Nick McDonald, reads: "In light of Saturday’s unfortunate incident involving our own Tom Miller and Bolton’s Chung-Yong Lee, everybody at the Club including Players, Backroom Staff, Directors and Supporters wish to pass on our best wishes to Chung-Yong and hope that his recovery is speedy and he returns to full fitness.
"We would also like to praise the prompt actions of the St Johns Ambulance Crew and our Duty Club Doctor, Mr Huw Pullen, who accompanied Chung Yung (sic) Lee and some of the Bolton Medical Team to the Royal Gwent on Saturday.
"Our own Medical Director, Mr Kartak Hariharan, who is a highly regarded foot and ankle surgeon, was available at the Royal Gwent to perform the operation and we understand the Bolton Medical team were extremely pleased that Chung-Yong was in "Dr Harry`s" safe hands.
"Tom, as most supporters would have seen, was visibly distraught after the challenge and actually asked Anthony if he could be removed from the field as soon as was possible.
"He was aware of the seriousness of Chung-Yongs` injury and spent all of Saturday night and Sunday in constant contact with the Directors enquiring as to his condition and was eager to see him in person.
"Unfortunately, due to Chung-Yong’s post-op condition, this could not be arranged. However, this morning we were extremely grateful that Owen Coyle found the time to have a private meeting with Tom, and assure him that the staff and players at Bolton saw the incident as a complete accident and have set his mind at rest that his challenge was certainly not malicious.
"You can be assured that the club will be keeping in close contact with Bolton throughout the forthcoming season and make the return journey home, via a friendly at Hereford tonight, with our thanks and best wishes."
