Newport Hornets 43 King's Lynn Young Stars 46.
NEWPORT Mike Manning Audio Wasps' scheduled away British Premier League fixture at Berwick Bandits on Saturday night was postponed because of a waterlogged track.
And there was also bad new for Newport Drillerman Hornets, who slipped to a narrow home defeat at Queensway Meadows Stadium.
After moving up to eighth place following a 45-44 win at Edinburgh Monarchs on Friday night, the Wasps were hoping to further climb the table with success at Berwick.
They could still move up to seventh if they win well enough at Newcastle Diamonds on Sunday and Rye House Rockets lose when hosting Workington Comets at the same time.
Meanwhile the Hornets took their National League home meeting against King's Lynn into a last-heat decider.
However a 3-3 draw in the race meant the visitors clinching a deserved victory with Hornets skipper Jay Here top scoring in netting 14 points from five outings.
Newport Drillerman Hornets 43: 1 - Jay Herne (capt) 14(5); 2 - Richard Andrews 1(4); 3 - Brendan Johnson 10+1(5); 4 - Matt Bates 6+1(4); 5 - James White-Williams 5+1(4); 6 - Dan Greenwood 7+1(5); 7 - Martin Knuckie 0 (3).
King's Lynn Young Stars 46: 1 - Adam Allott 12+2(6); 2 - Rider replacement for James Cockle; 3 - Tom Stokes 5(5); 4 - Scott Campos 8+1(5); 5 - Lewis Kerr 12(6); 6 - Rhys Naylor 2+1(3); 7 - Sam Woods 7+2(5). * Newport Mike Manning Wasps will formally be presented with the Knockout Cup ahead of their next home British Premier League fixture against the team they beat in the final, Glasgow Tigers, on Friday, October 14 - tapes up at 7.30pm.
