Newport Wasps 51 Edinburgh Monarchs 42.
NEWPORT Mike Manning Wasps completed their 2011 British Premier League fixtures by moving up to fourth at a wet Queensway Meadows Stadium on Saturday night.
However it was only a last-heat, 5-1 from skipper Leigh Lanham and Charlie Gjedde which ensured the Wasps netted all three match points needed to move above Somerset Rebels.
The Wasps must now wait, however, to discover if they will be overtaken by Workington Comets, who have three meetings left.
The Comets need only six points from Sunday's home match-up with Edinburgh and a double header against visiting Plymouth Devils on Monday night - the first scheduled to start at 7.00pm.
