The Trust were pleased to play host to their sponsored team for the 13-14 season at a wet Rodney Parade on the day that Bridgend came to visit. Sponsorship had been provided to junior teams from Caerleon before and the Trust Committee were pleased to be able to maintain links with such a significant neibouring club. Newport RFC favourite Andy Brown played in the green of Caerleon as a youngster. Hopefully Caerleon will produce a few more Browners in the coming years.
First the boys were put through their paces by Trust coach Joe Crocker, ably assisted by Newport fly half Tom Hancock. They then pulled on the new kit sponsored by FoNR on behalf of all Newport RFC supporters, and a few photographs were taken before they lined up for the now traditional Guard of Honour for the Newportm and Bridgend teams as they ran out onto the park.
