Friends of Newport Rugby (FoNR) have arranged and funded the repainting of the Rodney Parade Goal Posts. The metalwork was beginning to rust and was in dire need of upgrading.
FoNR were pleased to complete this project in time for the IRB Junior World Cup matches that were held at Rodney Parade.
The work was carried out with materials and labour supplied by T A Roden Ltd and the necessary “cherry picker” access platform was supplied by Robert Price Builders Merchants. We are extremely grateful to both companies for this generous support of this project.
Future projects to support the infrastructure at Rodney Parade will be carefully vetted before we undertake them. FoNR are well aware of the planned redevelopment and the current delay due to worldwide economic problems. We will continue to monitor the situation as it would be unwise to spend considerable sums on projects that can not be taken into the new stadium.
FoNR will continue to offer financial and volunteer support to Newport RFC and also continue with the regular support we give to the local rugby community
