One of this seasons teams sponsored by FoNR are Pill U12. After being approached at the end of last season the Trust were keen to encourage more junior rugby to be played within the city limits, especially if it encourages a future for one of Wales most famous clubs.
Pill harriers have been around for some time and it is great to see that at under twelve level there is a thriving team coming through. Some of the team members are familiar faces at Rodney Parade as they fulfill the all important ball boy role.
On matchday, the team took part in a training session with Newport Scrum Half, Ryan James, taking charge.
Following this, the kids changed into the jerseys as sponsored by FoNR to provide the Guard of Honour at kick off time.
The Pill team has already worn the new kit in anger this season chalking up a creditable win at Bargoed, 15 points to 7.
